So, after dragging-ass.
I have my speedo cable ready to hook into the Dakota Box.
Red-red
White-white
And I assume the Black goes to Speed?
Not Speed out
I messaged Dakota and no reply

Strip wire a bit and tighten down set-screw

Secondly, what is the best route to get the cable into the box? Hole in fire wall or...?

yest the sender wires match up with the colors on the box. Black to speed-, white to speed send, red to speed+ loosen the screw, slide the exposed wire under the metal tab, tighten screw.

As for how to get the wire in the truck. I ran mine along the path of the old speedo cable. off the T case up the left frame rail and through the fire wall with all the other wires.

There is a setting for it to calibrate itself off of a known mile. There is also a setting for you to adjust the speed yourself.

I used a gps speedometer on my phone to mark out a mile. and then manually adjusted mine. To match the gps

the link you posted says this
How do I calibrate the speedometer (AUTO CAL)?

If performing a SPEED CAL (AUTO CAL) within a VFD3, VHX or RTX System, the Switch #1 must be pressed while starting the engine, allowing entrance into the setup menu. Once the engine is running the, Switch #1 may be released, navigating to the AUTO CAL selection.

then drive 1 mile. It’s up to you to determine 1 mile. I used my phone

Yes... but it says don’t back up... we’ll I need to back out of my driveway to begin the initial mile to calibrate.

I’ll mess with it tomorrow. We had a our street paved today so I could not get the Blazer out to drive.

Good to go.
It’s off by about 1-2 mph according to the gps app I used. A margine I can live with.

Kinda lame on this model
You have km/m instead of MPH on the digital read out

Yup, it's used as an alternate indication. They expect you to use the main dial as the primary and the digital readout should you ever want to come up to snowneck territory. My HDX cluster reads MPH in the digital indication as my primary is KPH

Really? Because on my VHX I was able to have MPH on my screen while having MPH on my dial.
