Nothing pointed to JJ but Paul at Classic Dash is an a-hole! Had fitment problems and emailed them about it several months back. Got a crap answer and then the attitude of it didn't cost you anything (insert J Cash flip off) and he attacked the person who did the install. So been having issues of it blowing the dash fuse several times. I have checked all connections for being bare and find nothing.

I am ready to yank the thing out and just make my own wiring as if it was a hot rod and do each thing wired separate. As far as the fitment the dash is fine for a beater or a krawler but for the price you think it would fit better. So for classic dash I have to give Paul G and thumbs down.

What a fracking pain in the ass I have to frack with this when I need to be pulling parts off yellow truck.
 
What dash is it? Link?

I thought they just did the abs style ones that you put autometers in..
 
i am sorry but in todays world the parts should at least fit the same if not better than original gm stuff or other brands oem offerings.

I looked at these socalled aftermarket dashes and was not impressed with them . I will do my own mods and fitment or leave it stock .
 
Here are pictures of the black bezel. The gauges are nice it is just the bends and the fitment. Then the wire gremlins decided to go all the frack out today! The area where steering column is not formed right, AC vents do not align the plastic of dash sticks to far away from the heat control and radio area and the light hole is off.

JJ and I talked before and after on the dash and the cost. He wanted to help and promote the company and I am still thankful for it. But if I had spent the money for it I would be driving to Vegas and it would NOT be for the slots!!

I was super happy with mine.

I had to grind a little for the light switch to fit, but I think it was just the wrong model year for mine.

The harness was awesome I thought.

It had a rectangle cut out above the light cutout. So must have been optioned different than what my rig has. I didnt have a rectangle thing to go there, but it lined up with the light switch on mine, and I put a switch for my LED pods in the round hole.

It could be better, but as far as the harness, I was very happy with it.

Yea that is a different style but right now I am so frazzled that I don't know wether to unload a drum mag in it or push it off a cliff! So I am going to bed!

wiper control was above headlight switch until they went on turn signal lever.

I agree, with modern manufacturing technology, that looks and fits like sheet. I private individual with access to a 3-D printer could do better.
 
Wow, the fit and finish on that is really less than desirable. I guess the idea is it's just for holding gauges on a crawler or mud slinger....

Holy Moly, I just went and looked the price up for that thing... 310 bucks for that?
 
I figured out what the problem was my metal under the dash must be heat warped! :\ Trying to figure out which gauge or gauges cause the short is next on the list.
Have been running fuse with out the front half of wiring connected so that means gauges.

It is not unusual for head light nob not to line up all that well. I still have the factory original GM dash in mine, and it does not line up with the head light switch nob all that well either.

If that was the issue I could lived with it by moving the switch. The issue is the vent fitment does not allow them to move, the lower cover does not fit the form, the dash sit to far from the oem controls (heat/AC and Radio) almost an inch or more away from metal. It is all fine if you are making EVERY THING custom but using factory this one is a fail. The biggest pisser was the attitude of Paul at the company. I sure as hell would never suggest them or buy anything from them. Whither or not I paid for it or it was a gift you stand by your product not call the people who install it stupid, blame the truck as being wrong. So I am working on installing the gauges into a factory bucket and using the factory bezel. This will be done over the winter. To much to do to get ready for BB. Still need to get the trans right. It only has 1,000 miles or so on it.

Having looked at both of these rigs in person, Lawrence's fitment is much, much worse than yours. Not sure why the difference, but it doesn't really fit the dash anywhere. It's closeish, but only by crummy amateur standards. There's no way that a panel of that size should be nearly an inch off in the depth dimension. That's inexcusable, even if this was a Chinese knockoff. Not sure if he has the wrong model or what, but something is definitely wrong.

The gauges are cool, though.
 
I would suggest replacing all your standard .25" non insulated female crimps, with the insulated versions. I do not know why you have miss matched terminals there. Also buy some 4" zipties and go to town with them. That wiring is all over the place.
