SO im in my 98 civiv, coming back from the airport on monday, on the freeway, when all of a sudden something under the hood lets go, makes a terrible noise and smack the bottom of the car, and the a/c stops working. Great I threw the clutch, literally, I was thinking, well sure enough, I did. Im just going to put a new complete compressor on the thing. It was making a funny noise lately, and I was going to check it out, replace as necessary, guess ill do it now!

Ouch !!! I lost the clutch on my DD not that long ago , and I was able to just cut that belt and drive home . Sometimes old stuff rocks :D

OMFG , I just checked prices on your clutch , and compressor at Autozone.com . My goodness they don't have a clutch , and a reman compressor w/clutch is 699.99 :yikes:

I would carry a jumpstarter around a junkyard and found one that clutches :D

HAHA yeah I know. Dealer was actually cheaper then that, and NAPA was a little less. You also should replace the reciever dryer too, so add that, haha. I actually found OEM compressors and clutche, setup, from a seller on ebay, for half the price.

I've got a slow leak in the A/C on there Alero. The shop that charged it last week put a 6 month garrenty on it so as soon as it's not cooling again, they'll fix it for free. :D :D :D

I know it's too late to help you now, but if you need any stuff for your Honda let me know. It's what I do for a living. I will help you out whenever I can. Gotta take care of my CK5 bros.
