Stupid Pontiac I'm working on in school. To change the oil filter I had to pull the wheel and go through the wheel well. Still couldn't get it. Teacher said to forget it. Claims the only easy way to do it is on a lift by reaching over about 2 foot worth of rack and pinion and transmission. Even then the oil filter just dumps onto the transmission making a mess

Not just new cars. I had a 71 Chrysler New Yorker with a 440. The only way to change the drivers rear spark plug was to jack the car up and use a 3 ft extension and 2 wobble joints. This car was wide enough for me to lay down in the trunk, yet Chrysler could not leave enough room between the steering column and engine to get a socket and wrench in from the top!!!

Sounds like oil filter relocation kit may be in order.

A lot of the 4 bangers have the oil filters in the back....on the top. WTF? I know my honda is a piece of cake to get to, just like my blazer and truck!
