The D300's have the same round bolt pattern as Chevys and you can have a 32 spline input in the D300, I wonder if you could use a 465/208 adapter and 32 spline 465/300.
The bolt pattern might be off though, I know that Jeep 231's would be clocked down by ~90 degrees if you put it behind a Chevy adapter.
you could get a jbconversions input gear in 32spline and use it. might have to adjust a bolt hole or two. why? be prepared to upgrade the output shafts, as they can snap like candy with big tires, and manual trans.
novak sells an adapter, they are pricey, but very nice. I think it's like 3.5" long. we just did this to my brother's CJ. 205 was too big and 300 has better ratio...
