How much would you pay for a Chevy Dana 44 front, pretty much completely gone thru with new wheel bearings, axle seals, new 4.56 gears(R&P)etc. and also a 12 bolt rear with new bearings, seals and new 4.56 gears etc. both open carriers???
Thanks for any input!

I dunno, but I gotta brag cause I'm in a good mood. I found an old set of those with 3.73s and I got them for free

. Finally something's going my way.

The average price around here for junkyard axles (stock and in reasonable condition) is about $250, and you can find them for as low as $100 if you know where the small local yards are.
The 4.56 gears are a good selling point if you can find someone who wants that gear, and should increase the value some. I really hate to suggest a price to ask for them, but I generally recommend starting a little high and then working the way down.

Hmm, I'm not sure what your asking. Are you trying to find out how much you should pay for the described axles or are you trying to sell them? Doesn't make a difference on the "fair" price (is there such a thing?) I'm just wandering.

1st asking price is $800 for both but that seems a little high to me but didn't know for sure, any help is appreciated!

I'd say the price is a bit high... sure 4.56's give a value increase, but not as much as like 4.56's in a 14B. Alot of guys wanting that ratio are gonna be going 3/4 ton. I just piucked up a dana44/12B front w/ 4.10's for $500. The rear is perfect (I just got done checking it out) just throwing in 2 axles seals and rear shoes/whl cylinders. Frt is next... I did have to drive 3 hrs to pick them up in Duluth... but I had to go there anyways

I paid 4,000 for mine. But...then again, they came with a complete K5! LOL. 800$ seems a bit high to me too, but what do I know? Any of you over on pickuptruck.com?
