i just bought a D44 and 14BFF today, the pervious owner didnt know the year of the axles. im guna rebuild them both, but im wanting to but disc brakes on the 14BFF, so would any rotor from 73-87 work for both axles? im new to axles so bare with me.

You'll need a 4WD 3/4 ton rotor -- the 1/2 tons are only six lug ;)

Note that the Eldorado calipers used for parking brake are very hard to come by, so you might rethink the disc idea.

The eldorado calipers arent your only option either. Im using 3/4T front calipers off of a 10B. I believe the 10B 1/2T calipers work too.

1/2 tons are the same size overall, but have a smaller piston.

I shoulda said "You should research this more, as it's not as easy/cheap as some make it out to be."
