1/2 ton status
I am going to be swapping in a eight lug 44 - and was wondering if I could use the axles from the 1/2 ton as spares? I don't have them here to measure.

the only difference is the outters. the innerds (axles, gears, housing, knuckles) are all the same. just make sure they are the same axle, because 10 bolt innerds are different than d44 innerds. the knuckles out will swap between both.

There is no difference in axleshafts between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton Chevy D44's.

Yeah, they're the same. It's the reason why I'm running half ton junk instead of putting one of my 3/4 ton pairs of axles in.
