Dana 44 6-lug to 8-lug

I think I may start looking for a K20 front axle as it'll probable be cheaper than converting my 6-lug.

if nothing else, the way prices are for the parts to convert; it may be cheaper to buy a complete axle

Ruffstuff charges $59 for a Dana 60, 3/4 ton, disc brake brackets or $400 for the complete conversion kit and it includes brackets, calipers, pads, hoses, etc... all we need to do is convince them there is demand for the 10-bolt/Dana 44.

Are 10-bolts roughly equivalent to d44s in strength?
Yes, the R&P, axleshafts and such are all comparable - at least for the later "big bearing" D44's. The 10-bolt is basically GMs copy of a D44, so they could build it internally. From the spindles out, you can swap parts between them.
