Dana 44 Axle

I did a search but not really getting what I want. I have a d44 from a 74 3/4 ton eight lug, and a d44 out of a 75 k5. Are the axle shafts and other parts interchangeable from the k5 to the 3/4 ton? I am going to put the d44 eight lug under the k5 and just want to use the d44 from the k5 for spare parts on the trail. the reason for the swap is so the gears match the 14 bolt ill put in the rear. thanks

yes, both will have same shafts

cool kinda thought that. I think from what I have found searching is the spindle bearings will be bigger on the 3/4, any truth to that?

the only difrence between 1/2 and 3/4 is the rotors and hubs I think. Axelshafts should be the same.

it's not the 3/4 that makes the difference on the spindle bearings, i think it is just early design and late design.
