On the backing plates for a dana 44 set up is a cup you bolt up to spindle/axle. Is this the size cup etc as 10 bolt? I have dana 44 backing plates but one cup was missing. Any help would be great.

Do you have pictures of what you're asking about? I think the answer to your questions is yes, the D44 and 10-bolt will swap outer parts. Here are some pictures of my 10-bolt receiving D44 parts. The backing plates & cups swapped perfectly between the two axles.

3rd pic in your link on post 30 of yours. Thats the cup on the backing plate.

they can lol thanks for info :waytogo: going to do the Dana44 hubs up front first and then next weekend swap rear axle out.

it will be a start to dana 44 hubs in front with H2 wheels then following weekend hope to get the 14 bolt full floating in. Then can save up little more and get the 3-4 lift I wanna do hopefully. This is for my 87 K5 which is rough but I enjoy driving it every chance I get!

cups are spot welded in i found out. Guess going to have to drill one off 10 bolt backing plate and weld in on the 44 backing plates.
