Need help...beating my head here.

Bought a 72 K5 Blazer recently and I am trying to identify the parts used.

1st issue is the front axle.

Info:
D44-5F
BOM# 603333-9
3/4 ton (8 lug)

Any help to identify the year and vehicle of this axle would be great.

I believe that axle was used up to the late 70's in 3/4 tons if thats what your asking.

Thanks...that is what I am looking for.

Anything more specific you could help me out with. Just trying to make sure I get the right parts when I need them.

Is knowing exactly the year that important?

This may sound stupid, but did this come from a Chevy?

Why can't I find more info using the BOM...damn frustrating.

8 lug 44 had different bearings than the early 6 lug.i think that changed around 76 or so.dana 44 were used until early 80 when all were phased out for ten bolts.as far as exact year cant help but I believe dana axles have the date stamped on the ring gear if it is still stock gears.
