I'm looking for a set of replacement hubs for the Dana 44 on my blazer. Do the hubs vary from year to year? What should I be looking for? Are there small versus large diameter spindles or something?

They vary from year to year. can't remember the which ranges go with what. But I know that the earlier D44's had smaller inner bearings. Try to put some later ones on, and that large inner bearing likes to let your wheel walk around and grind on stuff....:doah:

The hubs are all the same, the spindle and inner bearing are what's different. Just get the bearings to match whatever size spindle you have.

Are the castings the same? Going through my trouble (hub out of round), I don't remember being able to just swap bearings. AFAIK there is specifically a hub for the smaller inner bearing, and specifically a hub for the larger inner bearing.

I'm pretty sure they are the same but I haven't actually measured the hub. I just swapped on 8-lug hubs.

Hey,

I've got a pair of 6 lug hubs and spindles I took off my 71 Blazer to do an 8 lug conversion. I've got the stock lockouts, etc. I just took them out of my barn and onto my parts pile... You can have them for shipping and little handling fee.

shipping from 93410. slo, ca

Old Creek, that would be great. Shipping to 92399 please!

Wait! Don't you want pics first?! J.K.

It'll take me till about tuesday to get the boxing/shipping figured out. I got a new project on the way tomorrow and am in a bit of a whirlwind trying to get that all settled!

If I forget, send me a p.m. I'm also over at 67-72chevytrucks.

But don't worry, they're not going anywhere.

btw, do you want me to leave the discs on the hub? It will save on shipping to leave them off. They look pretty weathered and I would get new ones if I were you. I'll be sure to include the lug nuts.

Yes! Pics right away!
I'm on 67-72chevytrucks too. My uncle (C10 King) and a bunch of other guys I know are over on that board.

Sounds good, just let me know when you get around to them.
Yeah if the rotors are not in good shape then leave them off to save shipping weight.
