Dana 44 oem yellow knob spicer locking hubs

Not sure if they are stronger than the Warns, but they are a very good hub. However, 80 wouldn't have had a D44 originally, it would have had a 10b in the front. Not saying it doesn't now, we all know how many changes these trucks have gone through, but it is odd.

A GMC would have the D44 as GM phased them out thru the '82 year.

Ahh, see I learn something new all the time. I just went with the Chevy side and I knew they phased out the 44 earlier.

Assuming they're both internal locking hub design, yes.

I found a pair at the junk yard on a 1980. Woundering if I should pull them. I currently have the warn prem that I bought back in late 90s

Yes, well worth it and do what Stomis says. They aren't bad hubs, and I still have mine as spares, but mine aren't yellow dial and aren't in great shape. Yellow dials are worth more if they are in good shape.

blue dials worth more then?

I found a second pair at the yard but ended up leaving them. The 80 chevy had a np205 and auto. I didn't check to see if it was a th 350 or 400. If I had more time.... I did find a 74 full of old hickey parts. I pulled the all welded brush guard and oem tow hooks. , it had the 4 point roll bar. The biggest find wad a bradon pto winch on a 70s ford. Great day for picking the yards.

80 would most likely be a 350 with the 205, it was (I believe) the only year that you were guaranteed to have the 205 with the auto.

I got a 1980 4x4 frame under my 77... the 80 has got a 205 with a 400 trans and a 10 bolt front end with yellow dial spicer hubs, I got no reason to believe it didn`t come from the factory that way.

I had a 79 4x4 as well that had a 10 bolt in the front, and I know for a fact that it came with it... got the truck from the original owner.
But it was full time 4x4 so 203 and no hubs.

Both trucks are half tons.

I thought the d44 was discontinued in 78... on half tons anyway.:dunno:
