dana 44 swap question

i just went to attatch the stock axle shaft with u joint to the dana 44 , and the c clips that the bolts go through to mount to the yolk dont fit


do i need new ones, or do i bend the old ones.

also, do i need a different u joint like the 14 bolt?

when i got the dana 44 , it didnt come with the pieces that the bolts go through.

One may use straps and the other use u-bolts. My D44 uses u-bolts, the holes in the yoke are not threaded.

ahh. are the u bolts something i can get from napa?

Yes, that's where I got mine. It may work if you have them look up the parts for a 1976 K20 or something like that since that is what the axles came stock in.

Maybe check your yoke to be sure the holes aren't threaded like the 10 bolt was before you go buy the ubolts.
