DANA 44's for a Jeep Wrangler Upgrade

Got a buddy trying to upgrade his puny Jeep Wrangler axles to a set of Dana 44's, preferably out of a Rubicon with those sweet lockers already in them . open to suggestions for other options too, I'm new to the Jeep thing.

What model and year of Wrangler? That significantly affects your list of donors.


BTW, Rubicon D44's are basically just D30's with a Dana 44 ring & pinion. They are far from being "God's gift" to the D44 world. Honestly, you'll have far better luck finding decent donor axles by searching for Ford and 1980-up FSJ axles since all Wranglers have a driver's side front drop.
