I'm pretty sure I've heard of a 3/4 ton Ford or something with it...can't remember where though.
It's not a big step up in strength from the Dana 44 TTB and it's leaf sprung so I bet a lot of folks just skip the D50 entirely. Bastard stepchild of sorts.
Yeah but it isn't incredibly so. I know when I was in the Ford TTB world a few years back even the blue oval enthusiasts had little great to say about the Dana 50 version of TTB.
As i remember dana 50 TTB uses 60 outer and a 44 center section, so there is no up grade in ring gear size, and there is a reason that ford got rid of ttb in its 3/4 ton trucks
