So I did some wheelin and dealin and am ending up with a Detroit locker for my 60. With hater cut 44 boggers and a heavy right foot, I know I should go ahead and upgrade the shafts. I would like to hear your experiences, pro and con. The idea behind everything I'm doing is to bog all weekend without having to wrench on it at the mudhole. 35 spline outers with slugs is the bare minimum I'm thinking.20220924_163115.jpg

3500 per is just outside my budget

not 300M but still warranty up to 47s

Good and even mediocre 4340s are lasting well with expensive joints rock crawling. It’s more maintenance but super joints and a set of chromos would probably do well for a long time.

Mud is alot more forgiving than rocks, would think chromos would get the job done.

Given the intention of this beast, surprised you didnt just start with rocks, though this has likely snowballed to current state, which would make sense lol

Rocks or Merritors and 14.9's are planned for next year, that's why it's so high off the 44's right now. I've had this thing 20ish years, started stock and every few years I threw my waet at it, here we are lol
