I had a bounce kinda like you are describing on a F150 and it ended up being the inner spindle bearing. I don't know the reason why I would get the vibration with it in 2wd with the hubs unlocked, but it would bounce the front like a bad shock or a really out of balance tire. Try locking the hubs and taking it for a drive, if it goes away it may be your issue.
