Got my detroit locker today, but no instructions. Well, except for this little card. Are instructions supposed to accompany the locker? Also, I need to get new bearings, anybody have the part number for the carrier bearings for a chevy Dana 60?

Check out BillaVista's D60 build in the Tech section on Pirate. I think he used an ARB, but other than the air line, the install is the same.

Nothing special about installing a Detroit in a D60 versus any other gear or carrier install. Kind of the same idea as if they included installation instructions with a new set of tires;)

Got it. Pulled the open carrier this afternoon. Ring gear slips right on no problems. Bearing in it now is 4T-387A for those needing the carrier bearing part number. I'm going to try to re-use the bearings. Friend has the removal tool and press. I guess it's a no-no to reuse the ring bolts? Even with locktite on em?

Idk I always reused mine after I installed my lockright...

They say not to reuse them. Dunno exactly why. As long as you have it apart get a master rebuild kit and replace the bearings and ring gear bolts (still use locktite). A little piece of mind...

Also, I have not had much luck removing bearings and having them survive.

Do you think it necessary to re-set the lash when installing a locker in the front?

I got it installed. Old bearings and shims came off without damage. Pressed them on the locker with the same shim packs on each side. Backlash was within limits (006). The pattern was a bit healed, but I really didn't want to pull the pinion to change that. Drove it this morning on some trails and it performs great! I will try to post a video (sorry no sound). We are trying to come up a steep, muddy hill with a big ass rock in the way. Finally got over it. Two lockers are sure nice. This thing was going anyway I pointed the nose!
