Is the dana 60 (front) the same as the gm dana 60? If so what years are they found on?

A search would turn up all the info you need. It has been covered many times. A king pin dodge front is close enough to work in a chevy. Just make sure it is not a D61.

aftermarket shafts are not as readily available since the lengths are screwy. PM FOR MUD, he has dodge axles under his truck.

Dodge D60's are narrower then Chevy's. There spring mounts are 1/2" narrower also. There pinion yoke is different then Chevy. The shortside axleshaft is shorter then a chevy. There longside is the same length as a Chevy. Stubs are the same. Dodge used a center drop brakeline setup that is handy to reuse if possible or just bolt up your chevy stuff.

My good buddy az-k5 has a Dodge 60 under his K5. It is pretty easy to get in there as long as you swap in crossover steering at the same time. All you have to do to get the springs to line up is cut 1/4" off the inside of each spring bushing and move the cut piece to the outside. Swap on a Chevy pinion yoke. Install crossover steering.

You really do want to get the spring pads to match by moving the spring slightly. Matt tried just pushing the springs in in the stock locations and it worked but his truck rode like arse. He cut the 1/4" off and moved it to the outside and it was all good.
