What brand of 35 spline drive flanges are the best and the cheapest? I would like the kind you can remove the slug and still run the cap.

I have searched and read for days and I still don't know which ones are the best.

Thanks,
Mike

I ordered mine from 4wdFactory for around $180 shipped. Don't know how strong they are because its still under construction.

I have NWF flanges, same thing, still under construction.

Can you remove the slug and still run the cap with either of those brands?

Thanks,
Mike

You can still buy the Dana / OEM style push on caps really cheap then you don't have to worry about the drive flange cap bolting back on.

How well do they seal and do they stay on?

Thanks,
Mike

Im running the warn drive flanges, I kept breaking premium 35 spline hubs and 4 wheel parts swapped me out for the drive flanges. I have not tried running the outer cap without the drive slug. You can pull the slug out and reinstall the inner retainer, clip and outer cover to run them.

78Buford ran them for years, and most of that time he was driving it on the road to and from the trail so he would pull the flanges out on the highway, meaning it popped the caps on and off several times (i.e. they were pretty worn and beat up looking). He would put a layer of duct tape on them to extra safety but he never lost one and I don't think the had much trouble with dirt/water getting in them.

I ran factory drive flanges with the push on caps for years also (before going 35-spline) and never lost one either, of course I didn't take them on and off all of the time either. I had to beat on them pretty hard to pop them out.

In any case, if you have a complete different style of flanges and just put the push on caps for the road there is very little chance you would get junk in them.

Do you know what the part# is for those?

Are the Summit Machine drive flanges any good? PORC sells them with a plain black cover.

Thanks,
Mike

I've got the polyperformance flanges. You can reinstall the cap without the slug in place. I like em.

Another vote for PolyPerformance flanges. They are designed to run without the flange and still bolt the cap on, if you choose to do so. They were 200 bucks. From my experience cheap and good/best don't go together. It's either one or the other. Have not heard of anyone breaking one either and they sell the crap out of em.

If they didn't have the skull and crossbones on them I'd buy them. I'd like to have plain black caps.

I realize cheap and best don't go together. I don't mind paying top dollar. There is only about a $50 difference between the most expensive and least expensive.

Thanks,
Mike

I'd bet they can provide you with plain black caps for no extra cost.

I have NWF flanges and they're fine. Good quality, you'll never break them, but the cap relies on the puck to stay on. Cheap too ;)
