Yes, you can!

I know a place that will machine down a set of dually hubs and set them up as a standard single wheel setup.

I believe the cost is $350 a set. If you buy the single wheel hubs from GM they run $600 for the pair.

So if you can pick up a dually D60 for $350 less than you're willing to pay for a single wheel. You're where you want to be!

Correct me if Im wrong, but duellies dont have 4 tires up front. So if he has a Dana 60 "FRONT" from a duelly where would the need be to do any mods?

The dually version of the D60 has a diffent WMS to WMS measurement.

I believe the WMS is around 8" greater on a dually D60.

Look at this pic: http://images.autotrader.com/762/043/76204313_000234_240x160.jpg

See how the front hub sticks out and the backspacing of the dually front wheels.

If the dually D60 could be used, more people would buy them. The cost in converting these axles comes from the hub assemblies, which run $600 thru the dealer.

OK,,THEN MY QUESTION IS,,WHY CAN'T HE USE IT AS IS ? IT SIT'S UNDER THE SAME FRAME AND BODY AS ANY OTHER TRUCK RIGHT ? I GUESS ONE QUESTION IS ,,ROCK CRAWLING,,OR MUDDING ? MUDDING NO BIG DEAL,,BUT IF YOU PLAN ON HITTING THE ROCK'S EVERY DAY, THEN YEAH,,I'D BE LEARY. ALL I'LL EVER SEE IS MUD, SO TO ME,,I'D JUST BUY THE THING AND DROP IT IN. THEY DO MAKE WHEEL'S WITH THAT OFFSET FOR BIGGER RUBBER TO I BELIEVE,,I.E. GOING FROM A 6 INCH RIM TO AN 8 INCHER

I'm sure he can run the dually set up if he wants to. MOST people don't! Hell he can run 1/2 crap for all I care! I'm sorry that I try to help anyone out on this board, because everytime I do, I have to deal with idiots!

You would have a hell of a time rotating tires front to rear.

Oh ya. Are you yelling at someone or is the caps key stuck?

There is another member maching the dually hubs down to single-size. That man is Mike, aka Blazen91. Give him a PM. He is doing it for something like $200 for the pair.
