My front Dana 60 calipers are loose, is that normal? I can wiggle them back and forth with the brake pedal released:eek1:. I'm thinking the pins that hold them to the bracket might be shot. Is this common, where can I get new pins? Thanks for any advice!!

Pins?

A GM 60 will use a slide and spring under the bottom to hold it tight. It is possible for the bracket to wear, in that case you can get oversized aftermarket hardware.

yep the stock to stock fit is with in .060" of each other to fit and float correctly. thay do offer 4 bigger sizes to make all of it fit and float correctly.

i had a 1 ton box van at work with a funny rattle on bumps. had all new control arms x4/ new springs x2/ basicly everything minus knuckles. come to find out the gap was so far out of spec the caliper was rattling on the bracket over bumps.

i do have the napa brake sheet at work in my box with the info/specs and napa/gm part # for diffrent shim/spacers. and the new shim/spacers come with new springs also. let me know if you need it and i can grab it and scan it in and post it up for you.

will make note and grab it and scan and post it. be a day or 2 as no work for 5 days. but will be there for somthing .:doah:

Same thing happened to me. I bent the spring a bit in a vice and it solved the problem. Be careful, were safety glasses.

I went to my local NAPA and they had the caliper slider kit. The part# 82135 they cost $9.50 per side. They come with a new slider, a clip, and 2 flat pieces that are rounded with tabs on both sides. Has anyone ever installed this kit? I know where the slider goes, but the clip and the rounded pieces have me confused. Thanks for any help!!
