Trade a Dodge Dana 60 Front, Pass drop, King Pin, 3.54 gears for a 220v Single Phase Mig welder. Preferably 200amp or better. Having a matching Dana 70 rear.

hey mike , long time no talkie.

anyways, I have a miller/electric 200 amp stick welder that works great. unfortunatly, shipping the welder to you and the the axle to me would be expensive. did you have something else in mind ?
Hows your project going ?

Mike:

Yeah, it's been a while. I saw that you may be rocking an S10 now? Hows that buggy working out for you?

Anyhow, I was looking for a big mig welder because I want to box the front half of my frame in. I have a small mig and a big arc welder but a nice mig would come in handy for the job. I also have an ORD steering brace to weld in and I must say my mig skills far surpass my stick skills. I've currently got the old beast running pretty good and it is rocking a brandy new paint job, but it's coming out of commision soon for a 5.9 Cummins swap....hence how I ended up with the Dodge Dana 60. I plan to remove the entire front clip for the project and was hoping to do the welding work at the same time. It's been a long project but it's getting to be a super solid rig. As they say Rome wasn't built in a day and the same goes for the old truck. I think I've replaced everything on the truck once if not two or three times. At this stage it's merely a hobby and it sure beats a lot of others I've tried.

On the D60, shipping would be pretty killer mainly because it would need a double or tripple pallet. I'd keep the thing but my truck had a D60 from the factory so it's not much good except for parts to me. I've had a bunch of inquiries locally on it but I think the economy is getting the best of everyone's walletts. If it's something you are serious about lets talk. I don't have much use for the stick welder but it's worth a chat.

No problem ,

As far as the s10 goes, I ended up getting a jeep, whhich will be both for my wife and i to wheel. I still want to build up my stepside with 1tons, but as you said , for us to deal on the 60 you have, the shipping would just kill it. I have one near my i can get for 800, but its getting 800 saved up with soo many things going on. I am like you, i am pretty decent with a mig, but i am ok with a stick welder. I have a miller 140 i use for small stuff and i have the stick, but my new house is not wired for it. I might go a head and wire up to use it, or sell it. who knows.

catch up later, must get to work.
