i have the oppertunity to get a set of dana 60 axles a front nd a rear, i was wondering if closed knuckle dana 60s' are good for wheelin or should i keep looking

Keep looking. IIRC the closed knuckle 60 has small joints like the 44 and was a drum brake axle.

If you decide to get the D60 rear, I've got a set of 35 spline Chromo Full floating shafts 1-1/2 inch (Yukon gear)for it. I'll make you a deal you'll be hard pressed to turn down.

why r the closed knuckle dana 60s' so bad besides the small ujoints in the axle, isnt there any way to make it a open knuckle dana 60?

No way to convert to open knuckle, the axle tubes are a smaller diameter and thinner wall tube. Shafts are smaller diameter and coarse splined as well. I believe they are all drum brakes as well.

77-up open dana 60 = good and strong = up to around 35 years old design.

then closed knuckle = stupid old design and not even worth it. :doah:
