So I've got a line on a 88 Ford high pinion, king pin Dana 60. I'm not sure on the gear ratio yet, it is complete, will have all brackets, brakes, and spring pads (still under the truck actually) but is a DRW model. I know this is the one with the wider spring pad spacing and a DRW is not as desireable as a SRW, but what is it worth ????
What's the current value of one?

Yes its the wider perch and won't work on our rigs.

Its worth is whatever a buyer wants to pay. I've never paid attention nor watched these types of axles sell so I couldn't give you an average ballpark price to expect.

Same here. I can get 1 k for Chevy and Dodge all day long, but not the Fords.

Ive never tried to move a ford 60, thats why im asking. I can get 2 of them if I want for a good number, but im only looking to flip them, my local cl has a few all running 8 and up but thats not saying people are buying them. Of course there is a guy trying to sell a dodge cad 60 for 1100 :haha: must be cast from gold :D

I like to check eBay to get ideas for prices. They generally give the going rates for them.

Ford d60s are worth quite a bit more than chevys here in this neck of the woods.

It's strange how it works in different regions. GM 60's sell like crazy around here, a dodge 60, even a good one (internal hub model very close to GM) don't pull much (I picked up a 60/70 combo from a running/driving truck for $400 and most likely the seller would have gone lower) dodge CAD axles your lucky to give them away and the Fords -at least on CL seem to be listed high, but I've never really watched to see if they sell or sold one.

An 85-92 HP DRW Ford Dana 60 is probably worth $500-600 IMO. They're worth a little more because you can use Dana 50 hubs to convert them to SRW and those are easy to come by.

As mentioned, the later kingpin Ford D60's are less desirable, mostly because they're hard to swap under most other leaf sprung trucks and also because the wider spring pad width means that bigger tires rub the springs, which means less turning radius.

They're still good, strong axles, but not the most ideal for all situations.

It's the same in my neck of the woods as what most of you have been saying. The later kingpin ford 60's are good axles but less desirable than a Chevy 60 or the earlier '78/'79 Ford 60's.

Even the '92-'96ish ball joint Ford 60's are worth grabbing IMO because of the now popular "C" out hub swap on all the Dodges to get locking hubs for cheap.

What is this in reference to?

From the axle C out (knuckle/hub/brakes/locking hubs) swaps from those ball joint ford 60's onto 2nd gen dodge CAD 60 axles. You can use the stock inner dodge shafts (or buy a one piece shaft for the passenger side) and use the ford outer stub shafts.

Cheap way to get locking hubs on a 2nd gen dodge CAD 60 axle if you can find the ball joint ford axle for cheap.

I used to sell hundreds of 60s, the newer ones did sell but took a little longer. I don't remember what the prices were, depended on axle. I gave up on looking/buying/selling after my last 60 I had. Most sought after one out there, couldn't sell it, rebuilt cleaned and ready to go, couldn't get $1100 for it, when there were stock junkyard axles SELLING for what I wanted for mine.

I passed on an 86 HP60 in a local yard, could have gotten it for $150 or so. It's finally gone, now on c-list for $600 and still there....
