I have an 88 V30 dana 60 axle that I'm trying to install the hubs on but they don't seem to fit correctly. When I bought the axle the seller had them in a ziplock bag so in wondering if they're fords or something different?

Here are some photos so you can see the gap

cucv military std warn hubs = painted black like this . unless someone else did it .

lots of times wiggle / jiggle and when screws are tightened down it should suck in place.

He had a couple military trucks so that's very possible. I'll give it another go, thanks.

No luck trying to move them around, something is definitely stopping them from sliding all the way in. I'm thinking maybe the inner parts are from another manufacturer? I'll probably just buy a set of warns and be done with it.

first step post pics of what ya got in the axle already .

second warn is name brand but not like they use to be in my opinion .

if going hard core use go spicer oem used or new yukons.

Thanks for the recommendations.

Here's a pic of what's in the axle. I should also note that I can't get either side to seat properly.

warn inner guts for sure .

looks correct .

maybe try turning dial other way just incase its in the load position and fighting your install.

I tried rotating them while wiggling and applying pressure with no luck. I'll just buy some yukon's and be done with it.

Thanks for the help.

Why does it look flush on bottom but not on top? Because of the screw? And what if you remove the screw?

Sorry, first time I ever pulled a set of locking hubs out it was to throw them in a bucket and replace with Yukons. Wasn't really paying attention. :doah:

Yeah the spring is pushing it out, it slides back when I bolt the outer covers on.

I have had to wiggle jiggle and rotate the body a few times to get some warn hubs back in .

another reason I don't like them .

that tiny screw holds the coupler gear in place under the spring pressure.

and fyi warn hubs if fail / break are open / unlocked .

spicer and Yukon and some others fail locked to give you locked ability .

30 or 35 spline?

Now is the time to go 35 spline if you think you may ever need it.

Yeah, if you are going to spend the money for Yukons, install 35 spline outers. I snapped like 5 30 spline outers last summer.

Also, it doesn't matter if they are from a different companies axle. I have used Dodge and Ford lockouts on my Dana 60's.

I would like to go with the 35 splines but I have 4 days to get this axle under the truck and work out any kinks before leaving for a camping trip in the sierras.

there is supposed to be a big internal lock ring holding the 'guts' into the hub before the knob part is bolted on. are you sure that it's in there?

and you might have to have your front driveline length adjusted when you get the D60 installed. I had to (forget if it needed stretched or shortened. when I did the 14 bolt FF and D60, one driveline needed lengthenen and the other shortened.)

and last, I have a set of Mile Marker hubs you can have for free if you want them. they are complete and I just removed them for 35 spline stubs and Dynalock hubs.

I'm prepared to have the drive shaft cut down or extended as necessary. The locking rings are in there holding the guts in place.

Thanks for the offer on the hubs, I would have taken you up on that however I already ordered Yukons.
