i use to recall this stuff but old age is getting to me and internet searches tend to suck anymore with every anwser but the one you typed in to look for .

if i was to build a custom 60 front and want a wider width than gm spec but less than the ford 36.5 wide ....... what options do i have for a factory inner shaft so i dont need to get a custom one or cut to length ?

trying to toy with the idea of a 34" center to center spring pad to swap under a 2wd I-beam truck and make it 4wd and use my 2 spare 60 gm fronts .

other option i have is i have a 2nd matching dana 80 rear i can cut and modify to make a front and i would just need a simple way to install inner axle seals on a axle that was not setup for them .

:deal: and to be clear were not talking crazy power or rock bouncer build axle . just parts i have in stock to make a front axle for a odd width application .

options so far unless someone else has ideas .

Fwiw, the D60 bible is on billavista.com now.

yaa i saw that . got to re-read the whole thing .

just figure i might get a axle guuruu here that can spit out the answer .

and glad he saved his stuff from that now dump hole of garbage site . :pimp:

I'd use a gm 60 and just build a new saddle for the cast in spring perch that moves the center pin over .75". Then just make the long side perch match.
Just weld it on and make a new set of spring plates.20220219_175834.jpg

There is a chart out there with every stock length inner and part# from Dana for everything they ever made a front 60 for. I have seen the chart, it includes industrial applications too. Looking around but I have not found it yet.
