Hello to all.
I am not saying I know everything about king pin 60's but I have done my research over the years and I saw something today that stumped me.

I was rebuilding my king pin assemblies today and I saw this:
DSC00818.JPG (I hope it uploaded right)

I know it has something to do with the alignment/ camber/ toe of the truck, I just don't know how to set it back up properly. I searched CK5, Pirate, Google and I can't find anything on it. Any information will be appreciated.

Let me know if the photo didn't load right and I will try it again.

Thanks,

Charles.

I my self would set it all back to stock and test drive .

unless the axle is bent or major lift you shouldn't need it.

there for people who want to be perfect on these old trucks.

if I recall moog or one of those companys made these .

Hey, THANKS sweetk30!!
Are you saying I can remove them and be fine? The truck is stock height.
Where those a factory option?

Thanks,

Charles.

There was no lower kit. I was able to find those on the internet easily. Mine have the regular lower cap. (not adjustable)

Now that is interesting...I just put a 89 Ford dana 60 in my 98 k3500 and was surprised to find the same king pins you have in mine. I have had a bunch of K30's and have NEVER seen these. The cones were in good shape so I put in new springs and left the offset bushing. Hoping to get it aligned this week and we will see if the offset ones are staying.

My '79 Ford Dana 60 had those offset kingpin bushings in it when I tore it down. I just slapped some stock bushings in their place and buttoned it up.

Thats some good infotmation, thanks 86454K30, and Avery4jc!!

I think I am going to remove the adjustible pieces and go get the truck aligned. I will see what happens from there.

Charles.

Sweet K30 is right..

I recall Moog selling those years ago under the name "Problem Solver" ,they were intended to provide additional camber or caster adjustment, and I think they had some type of shims for the dana 44's that went between the spindle and knuckle too to do the same thing.. ...they also sold some upper control arms with offset shafts for some cars too, that needed more camber than the stock adjusting shims provided..
