How can you tell if they're in need of replacement?

Does anyone know the height the kingpin springs supposed to be? Mine are somewhere 2 to 2-1/16th. Also still running the plastic bushings, and no fender washers.

Thanks!

I assumed mine were bad when i got my M1008 and i pulled the caps off and they were worn, I got mine from WFO. it would not hurt to order some and swap them out.

if you havent changed your king pin springs on a dana 60 then just put in new now. under 10 bucks each there CHEEP.

from new to worn out is around 1/8th inch or more in my years running and playing with these.

and for pin its self nice n smooth and free of edges. if pitting / groves / gouging = replacement time.

and fyi tourqe spec installed is 600 ft/lb :eek1: and 7/8" alled driver .

Anybody carry just upper springs and bushings and lower bearings in a kit?

Like a rebuild/service kit minus the kingpins themselves?

call ord i have go part kits before.

and if your axle is a rusty monster like the rust belt stuff i play with get 4 new nuts for steering side king pin cap.
