Does anyone have the part number for the washer behind the pinion nut? GM claims it is discontinued and are of no help.

just threw mine away a couple days ago.

Supposedly if you get one of the new nuts with a flat flange on it, you don't use the washer. That might help.

That my work. What about the little rubber washer that has a splined circumference that goes behind the nut and washer?

Those rubber washers are only used on the transfer case as far as I know. The d60 doesn't use any rubber under the pinion nut.

Thats weird. mine had one. I always thought they where there to act as a seal. I may just us some RTV before the washer.

Actually, I just checked my parts diagram and I confused the 14bff with the d60. I don't know whether the 60 needs the metal washer or not.

I do have a washer from either a 60 or 14b and if you can measure the pinion thread diameter to check the size, I can mail you this one.

The pirate bible does say to put the washer on.

According to billavista, the pinion nut washer is spicer part number 30275. The diagram doesn't list a rubber washer. Maybe the previous owner used a rubber one instead of the metal one?

Got them coming. Went ahead and ordered them from Randy's Ring & Pinion. $20 for the nut, washer, and seal.
