I have a question to anyone who know the answer to my quetion. Would a posi unit out of dana 60 rear end fit in a dana 60 front end?

Most Dana 60 fronts are 35 spline (though there are 32 and 19 spline ones out there).

Most Dana 60 rears are 30 spline (there are some super rare 35 spline FF D60's, some SF 35 spline D60's and then there are some other shafts, like the old 19 spline stuff).

So, yes, D60 carriers can be swapped front to rear but its very unlikely that the limited slip from a rear 60 will have the same spline count as the 35 spline shafts in the front.

Yes they can but most likely you will need to change side gears because of spline count. I'm not sure though if you can swap side gears on all posi units though. My Powerlok has served well for over 5 years now and my hope is it slips before a axle snaps.

If you have a powerlock, you can buy a 35 spline side gear kit for it and pull your carrier apart and swap the side gears to 35 spline (even add a clutch to each side as well), then it will work, but its hard to find a powerlock that can do 4.56 and up gearing as i only see them in 4.10 and down, so if your running steep gears, you need a spacer with the 4.10 down carrier. We did this to my friends d60 front using parts from a dodge rear 60 powerlock.

got a brand new power lock next to my feet here in my room for 4.56 use. grabed 2 new units last year off a guy on ebay selling them for cheep shipped. got the 4.10 and 4.56 splits 1 each.

4.10 is for my plow truck and the 4.56 is for my show truck thats getting 5.13 gears.

how do you use your power lock?

and how well do you like the way it works?

i plan on using mine in my front 60 for plow truck use.

more on this extra clutch stuff please?

Actually, I added 1 extra clutch inside the carrier when i put it all back together and everything worked out, it was a job for my friend and he is happy with it, has about 5k on it right now running 38's and no problems yet. He says when wheelin, it hooks more like a locker then the rear ever did when he used to have the exact same powerlock in the rear w/ no extra clutch pack.

Not sure what you mean on how I use it, it is in the front of the K5 just like any locker. It was set up by a friend of mine that does all my axle work. It has never slipped yet that I have saw or felt. My goal is that if a front tire is bound up that bad I hope the locker slips before the axle pops. It works extremely well and acts like a Detroit. You will need hydro assist to turn and I would not put it in a plow truck. A Powerlok is just a step down from a true locker but it does act like a locker. When Mopar used the Dana 60's in the 60's and early 70's the sure grip posi they advertised was a Powerlok. It was able to stand up to the Hemi and 440 6 Pack and is a very tuff tried and true posi unit. I should know, I had one under my 68 R/T Charger I had back in the 80's. Like I said, I don't think it will work good in the front of a plow truck unless you don't want to turn. I would suggest a ARB or some other selectable locker instead.
