I have a Dana-60 front minus the front carrier and carrier bearings.
My question is, can I take a set of bearing caps from another diff and use them in this diff? Or are they like main caps on a motor and you can't mix and
match them?

Thanks in Advance for your time.

man that reply sounded just like the hot geeky chick in computer class... :X

I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes you can swap caps from another axle, but only because you can buy billet caps for a given axle and there is no mention of having to machine anything for them to work.

ehh me thought he was talking about something from other than a 60... id call dynatrac and ask... but i think you can use gm d60 caps in a gm d60 of the same vintage...

Glad you got a rise out of that:doah:

OK.
Can I,or can't I take the bearing retainer caps from one GM dana 60 front diff and mount them in another dana 60 front diff as they are both late 70's/ earlly 80's.

Round 2?

Thanks in advance for your input once again
