What's it generally cost to change a DRW to a SRW? (No, running hummer wheels isn't an option right now. :wink1:) How hard are the SRW hubs to come by? Do you just buy them new, or...?

Anyway, guy's got a DRW 60 for sale for $900. He's kind of firm on the price. Not sure how seriously I should consider it since I didn't want to have to swap out hubs.

IIRC the SRW hub/rotors are about $300 a piece. The guy wants too much for a DRW. Keep looking and you'll find a SRW for around that same price.

That's kind of what I was suspecting. I've read some guys are machining their dual hubs down and using them that way. What is the general opinion of that? What would that cost, do you suppose?

I have no idea what's involved but I can say that if you were to pay someone to do the machining it would still not be cost effective.

ebay all he time around 550-600 pair shipped for srw hub/rotors new.

900 for drw = way to much .

drw cut down to srw general idea is o.k. for offroad but NOT for street use. as you have 1/2 the face for the rim to sit on. and need to put studs in place of the bolt on rotor section. and machine time/labor better be real cheep or free as in you do it your self.

and to convert drw to srw you only need just the srw hub/rotor units and mabye some new grease and wheel seals. otherwise its a 1-2 hr swap job.

I paid 900 for my srw out in silver springs and it was in a drivable truck days before the guy pulled it, if that gives you an idea of the market around here.

Wait for a srw, these dana 60 fronts cost a lot to build up in the first place, you don't wan't to be dropping money on the hubs as well...

ahahaha

I paid $69 for my DRW 60. With having to buy single hubs and rebuilding everything, the junkyard should have paid me to take it. :doah:

Ebay = ~350-450 for a pair of hubs and rotors

Same Same Colby should be able to find a SRW for that kind of a price or just a bit more.

I say keep looking man one will come along.

My favorite is the one ton truck that is hammered, pull your axles throw em in sell for a couple hundred less than you bought the truck.

I would imagine with some patience you could find a 60 out there for 700-900

TrailTechFab, which is around my area, machines dually hubs down for $175 a pair. I paid I think $500 for my brand new SRW hubs and rotors, with races installed.

There was a drw here at a pick-n-pull for $250, they crushed the truck before i could pull the axle shafts out of it though :doah:
