Tearing down the dana 60. This is my first tear down of any axle. I am not sure if I need new kingpins and took some pictures for you all to see. Could you clue me in on if I should buy a kingpin rebuild kit? Also my spindle is not looking very fresh. Would you all recommend a new one?

I hope the pics arent too bad and you can all get a good idea.

i dont see any spindle in the pics ? oh i found them now all the way to the right. put a space inbetween them when loading in your thread so thay load up and down.

and dam that spindle is shot. crusty pile.

king pins o.k. thay can live. but if me and had the tools i would change them for new. as you dont want to do it again. like i said tho thay will work. i used a set like that condition 1 time and still going fine.

and if rebuilding spindles get these to replace the bearing in the spindle. http://www.longfieldsuperaxles.com/products/New-Dana-60-%26-44-Spindle-Bushings.html

have you used those yet? i wonder if they'd last longer then the needle bearings. i just redid one side of my d60 spindle bearings tonight. might have to get a set of those for next time. i bet they'd be easier to get out then the steel races.
