I searched this forum, YouTube, Google and other places but couldn't find a good solution to hold my carrier to torque the ring gear bolts. This came to me last night and it worked. Used the short axle that was held in a 6" vise (Harbor Freight model). Slid the carrier onto the splined end, placed a long 3/8" extension into one of the side holes and torqued the bolts. It was sooo easy and the carrier didn't budge as I torqued bolts to 110ft lbs.
Should work for my 14bolt carrier too.
