Hey everyone, my Dana 60 rear axle is leaking outta the pinion seal.. how do i go about changing this? seems a lil scary and complex. Any tips? write ups anywhere? thanks
Remove the yoke, remove seal, lube new seal, reinstall yoke and new pinion nut. Dana 60s use shims on the pinion so they are actually easier than GM axles.
Correct, the pinion shims are between the inner bearing and the pinion head. Therefore when you install the new nut and torque it to spec it will reset the pinion preload to were it is supposed to be.
