I'll make this a quick question.

What's the measurement from the center of the spring perches on a GM front Dana 60 axle?

Pirate bible says it's 32"
A few other online threads mention 31.5"
My rough measurements with a tape measure say 31.5" for my Dana44 and the Dana 60

Who's right?

I just measured 31.5 as well, although its kinda hard as my axle was in the truck.

Ok, at least mine isn't some oddball axle. I'm replacing the perch so I want to make sure the thing isn't off center. Thanks!

The Chev D60 is most definitely 31.5". One odd thing to factor in is the cast perch is machined 3" wide with the hole at 1.5" from the edge. The stamped weld on perched is 2.75" wide, also with a centered hole.

I clamped a couple of straight edges to my perches so I could get a better measurement (axle is out of the truck) and got 31.5" on the nose.

That was center of the hole to center of the other hole, with the different perch widths it's important to go from hole to hole, not edge to edge. I know it's only 1/8" difference...but it's also a front axle so it'd be nice if it's as centered as it can be IMO.
