what exactly is this traction device in this dana 60. the axle is from 1972 era. its got 3.42 gears on it. and 5 lug semi floater.

this was out of a 72-73 ih travall . kind of like are suburbans. had 44 frt and this 60 rear. had the divorced 205 tcase and is the same frame width as the chevy trucks we run.

It's a Dana Trac Lock, I've got one in the front of my crew cab. :wink1:

its got low miles. should i sell the whole axle on ebay or part it and keep the trak lock for my 60 and swap the side gears out for the 35 spline axles.

If it's a 5 lug SF it sounds like it's out of a Mopar muscle car of some sort. Chrysler used D60's in the 60's and early 70's in certain muscle cars. I'm not a Mopar guy so I can't be more specific. I would think if this is the case with what you have, put it on ebay, some Mopar guy might pay good $$ for it.

Ive got a tracloc in the front of my yard truck that I converted to 35spline,those side gears are a little pricey @ $40. each.
Works great for snow plowing, full on posi is not always good!

that is a travelall on a k30 frame. one of my best friends builds. His past away grandfathers old body
