I am rounding up the last couple of odds and ends to put my 60 in the burb this weekend and I realized the the yoke was different than what is in mine now. Where is a good place (open on weekends) to get the straps and nuts for yoke to hold the driveshaft ujoint in on the pinion on the front 60?

Also, what spicer part# ujoint does the front drivshaft take at the pinion? Do I need to run a crossover joint on my 91 3/4T burb or will the stock u joint bolt up?

Thanks!

Check the "HELP" section at the auto parts store. That's where I get them for my D44s.

Stock joint would have been a 1310 size, you will need a hybrid joint to get the 1350 size for the pinion yoke. Sorry cannot help with the # at the moment.

all front shafts take the same size u-joint. 1/2 or 3/4 or 1 ton, 1310 size.

use your same shaft.

They are the same IF no one has ever changed it before. Seems like he has already discovered that someone must have changed his since he made /\ this comment.

To the OP you are now going to have to take some measurements to find out what Yoke somebody has installed on that D60.

also could be that the original axle yoke took u-bolts and nuts, and now he needs straps and bolts.

from the way he describes it, sounds like he needs straps, and hasn't even put the u-joint up to it yet.

btw. quit following me.:D

Ok...heres the deal. Got my 3/4 ton 10 bolt out. It had the strap style with the two bolts. The new 60 takes the small ubolts with the nuts and washers on the backside as you guys know. The driveshaft ujoint is the same on both axles as previously stated. Napa told be it took a different joint (PHUKKERS!). Anyway, I did score a little ubolt kit at napa for the front pinion ujoint. It is part# 329-10 manufacturer precision if anybody needs one for thier swap. Thanks for all the replies. I think the only thing I forgot was new crush washers for the brake lines and a new vent hose (old one is pretty rotten).

MY PERVERSION CONVERSION HAS BEGUN!! :-)
