got a dana 60 with 3:73 and a locker (detroit i think) would i be able to run 4:56 gears on that same locker?

No, because the ratio break for a D60 carrier is < 4.10 vs 456 >
Yes, because you can buy a ring gear spacer to make it work. I personally ran a spacer for years with great success but most people frown on them as a weak point.

Yup, 4.10 will be fine, no spacer required.

You can try and find the elusive *thick* 4.56 gears for a 60 also.
