Dana 60??

well, that winch is PTO driven, who know where it came from and who knows what i'll do with it.
So...can I cut/grind the cast radius arm mounts and weld some leaf spring perches to use on something else??

that rear beside the front end looks like it has a pretty big diff....i think its the 1st pic it doesn't have that cast rib like the othe but it still looks pretty big....maybe you have to get a bronco to put those under :)) i think both of those maybe d60's 1 front and 1 rear,i still would like to know what the winch is?
Ford never used a coil spring D60 in the 70's.

i'm not sure but it sure looks beefy with that big cast rib running out to where the tubes push in and d60 is the only diff i've ever seen with that rib about a 1'' back from the beefy cast cover rib where the cover mounts to. see what i'm talking about? you can see it good in pic 4 and 5. how its got a cast rib where the cover mounts and then about a inch away there is another big rib cast into the case. and i've only seen that on d60's it will be on the front side(cover side) on lower cast triangle on the bottom gusset from the tube to the diff on drivers side it will say 60f. from what i see it looks big and more cast ribs than the rear end. i've never seen a 44 hd they may have that, i have a d60-hd and it has that rib on it...it looks almost just like that diff on that front end

thanx U2Slow, I have ID'd the D60, it came off a '69 F100 1/2 ton HD P/U 4x2 w/Power-Lock LSD, semi-float axles, 3.54 ratio. I think it'll be installed in my travelall sometime soon...we'll see...
As for the front, I wrote down the bill of materials stamped on it but could not match it to any of the #'s on the dana documentation...it did have a tag on it and read 3.50 ratio...maybe i'll throw this one on the Trooper...we'll see...

see if i can get this to work

That link I posted has all the BOMs too. :D

Ford front D44s often have the extra ribbing. That is a very typical 78-79 HP D44 housing from a F150 or Bronco.

front axle ID'd, came off a '79 f150 1/2 ton P/U w/part time T-case, ratio 3.50:1 standard. Thanx U2Slow...its new home will be the T-all for sure, same wheel stud pattern plus disc brake upgrade!:wink1:
