I have a chance to get a pair of 60's out of a 79 dodge and they are in great shape, will they work on a chevy k20 and the guy was telling me that the front axles have a very good caps on the ends of the axles that all the four wheeleers want, no lock outs, i can get hem both for 800.00 bucks. what do ya guys think?

The "caps" he is talking about are drive flanges (full time hubs) and they're not really that good.

The front 60 is worth $800.

Rear 60's bring the suck, they could hardly even be considered an upgrade from 1/2 tons. You could probably sell the rear for ~$150 to the right person.

what's wrong with the flanges? i'm getting a set of chevy ones for my d60 to replace the lock out hubs.

i have those big locking hubs where you turn the entire end cap... I was told they suck too but holding up to a detroit at the moment... :wink1:

I've got a dodge external D60. I like flanges but they're getting harder to find and I also trailer mine to the trails. I blew a few of those full turn hubs. I liked them but they didn't like me. So $550 later and some 35spline outers, spicer joints and these flanges I'm rolling gracefully again. I've got a welded front which does bring the suck on the hwy so I have to remove one flange for payment traveling. I gave them hell at tellico and they did awesome.
