Dana 60

first few years were neck down shafts. cant recall exactly when thay quit them and went thicker.

and if it has spicer oem hubs thay are beefy. keep them. or sell them to me. :wink1:

i'd say GO FOR IT!!! looks like he knows what he's talkin bout. specially bout the part of using u-bolts once. that's just smart

that will sell for over 1000.00 easy like all other d60.....

I have a Dodge 60 for sale, guy wanted to know how much, told him $750, he said not for that price. Told him good luck finding one for that price in the same condition. Only thing this needs is a lockout on the pass side....

Sounds like a good deal, go for it!!!

Can the necked down shafts be replaced with the shafts out of a later model if I want to? There's always aftermarket too... My wife's going to kill me.

Yes the necked down shafts can be directly swapped into the earlier model 60's. 1981 was the first year tehy went to the larger shafts.

man i dont know how you guys drop 900bucks on an axle you gotta rebuild totally... id say shop round and find a full k30 and then part it out. or scrap it.. u can basically have a 60 for free!

Yea it sucks but that's about as good as it gets around here. I don't have a trailer or any way of getting a truck that doesn't run to my house. A lot of the ones that I see don't run. Hopefully I won't have to pay $900.

Dont mean to break it to you, but unless you get real lucky you will be paying through the nose for a 60. I had mine shipped from new york, all said and done to get the axle to my house I paid about 850. Then I had to rebuild it, well thats just another story and pocket full of cash.

i guess i got lucky. mine has pretty much never been used... only thing i gotta take care of is the hubs and maybe the rotors since it was made for dually front rims.
