i was told there are two different types of dana 60's for chevy, the standard chevy dana 60 took four u bolts and the not so common that took three u bolt and two bolt threaded into the axle, i have the dana 60 that requires the two bolts, the axle didnt come with u bolt plates but i could beat the deal i got on it, is there a spacer that goes between the u bolt plate and the axle or are the bolts exsposed?

There is only one kind of Chevy D60 (77-91 1 ton) and it uses 3 U-bolts and then 2 bolts/studs on the inner passenger side. The bolts/studs are exposed. If you need spring plates i think DIY4X sells them. http://www.diy4x.com/suspension.htm About half way down the page they are listed.

Someone told you a used car salesman line . Thats how a bunch of people lose money online buying d60's , and receiving d44's .

Be happy you ended up with the real thing :thumb:

And don't get confused with some of the Dodge D44's which used 3 U-bolts and 2 bolts/studs. A chevy D60 will have king pins and a D44 uses ball joints.

Dodge has different shock mounts thankfully and are easy to spot . Chevy uses the throughbolt into the boxed mount , and Dodge used the bolt stud on a single tab .

i def sure that it is a dana 60 got it at a junk yard in vegas for $150 a steel.

i already have it up under the rig, came out of a k30, perches mounted strait up.
