stronger, no. If the price is right it would be worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to run my 39s with a D60 but 44s I wouldn't do it.

Biggest question is what spline axle is it? I know people who have broken a few 30 spline rear shafts running 40's. Like was said before it depends on how much it is i guess. You can gear and lock a 14 bolt very cheap (under $500) and it is nearly unbreakable!
