Ruff Stuff Specialties (aka GravelMaker) has released a 14 bolt C&C disc brake conversion bracket that also works on Dana 70HD Dually axle. The "ears" are offset from the mounting flange by 2-3/32" making it a direct bolt-on setup.

Here is a link to it on their site:
http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/caliper-mounting-bracket-p-217.html

And here it is installed on my truck.
Specs:
1977 Dana 70HD Dually rear axle
1978 3/4 Ton Suburban rotors
1974 3/4 Ton 2WD calipers
DuplaColor "Plum Purple" engine paint (Yes, I painted the parts purple. I'm going with a purple theme for 2 reasons: 1) It made the wife smile and 2) I've never seen it done on a Chevy)

Pre-paint test fit

Yes, I will be adding rubber lines to go between the steel line and the caliper, which brings me to a question. Does anybody have the part number for the Chevette lines that I need to run?

Thanks!

Now for the $20,000 question: will they clear dually rims?

I have the part box for the chevette line in my truck. I'll go look here ina bit and text it to ya

I'm running a stock 12 bolt H1 rim (16.5" with similar backspacing to a dually wheel). I would be surprised if they didn't work w/ stock dually rims.

And thanks for the P/N, Matt!

need to take u bolts off and paint purple now ;)

And the drag link, tie rod, and front u-bolts as well. As well as my shackle flip & shackles that I originally painted blue. And the list goes on :D

I thought the rotors had to be special made? Something about the hub hole not big enough?

I'd never heard that before.

Here's a pic:

Rotors are from a 78 3/4T Suburban

$140 with rotors!

Dana 70 disc brake conversion, Everything you see in the photo x 2!

This is a weld on kit. However, the bracket is removable after that. This way you can weld the kit on, have no spacers what so ever and still be able to remove the bracket at a later date if need be.

Both the bracket and weld flange are 3/8" thick steel. The flange is NOT threaded. This way there is no chance in damaging a thread in the flange. If a nut or bolt is to become damaged, replace and go again. Bolts are 1/2"x20tpi grade 8. Nuts are 1/2"x20tpi nyloc grade 8. Loc washers are 1/2" high alloy! Nice stuff.

This kit will include the rotors, the rotors are not an off the shelf item.

Just as a side note, If you are concerned about rotor availability, another option would be to source some 14BFF hubs for use on your axle. The hub on some Dana 70's requires a larger center hole on the rotor. This is the reason for a non standard rotor.

on to the pic!

Well that's interesting.

I know there are several flavors of D70 and maybe Kert had one that has a different hub diameter than mine. All I know is that my '77 D70 Dually hub fit beautifully into a stock front rotor from a '78 3/4T Suburban

Some front rotors have different offsets so I imagine the inner & outer diameters could vary as well. Kert's stuff doesn't have as much offset in the bracket so I doubt he's using the typical Chevy 3/4 ton rotor.

On my D70U, the hubs were just a RCH too big for a 8 lug D44 Rotor to fit over. I decided to turn the hub to size rather than the rotor. It doesn't look like this kit would work on a D70U, the flang bolt pattern is rectangular rather than square.
