I'm putting the hubs on the axle and I'm going washer, inner spindle nut, lock washer, outer spindle nut. I got some cheap Dorman washers #618-049 the problem is when I go to bend one of the teeth over the spindle nut the teeth are sheering off. Is this due to cheap metal? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Is there anyway around it? Any advice on how to bend them without sheering them? Cause I'm stuck.

sounds like china steel to me.

if you got a local junk yard close try some 14ff axle newer style single nut with key to fit and lock with snap ring to lock all in place. or extra set of dana 60 front nut/lock washer/outer nut.

i know the dana 60 and 14ff use the same size and thread pitch. lots of guys use these to have same parts front to rear and have 1 socket with them for trail repairs.

not sure if dana 70 uses the same.

Don't bend them as far :deal:

You can't bend these things at all. The teeth simply sheer off. I compared them to my old extremely mangled ones and the metal is drastically different. The nearest yard isn't near at all, so I just bent my old ones back into shape and used those. It took some time to get right, but they turned out great. I would much prefer to be using new ones, but oh well.
