dana 70?

Ive got a buddy that has a dana 70 i want but im trying to figure out if its worth picking it up. First off it is out a 89 dodge cummins truck with the dreaded dana 61 in the front so it has 3.07 gears , its got a one piece open carrier. I can't find the BOM #'s but i found the date #'s , where is the bom #'s located at on the 70.

So my question is since it was behind the dana 61 did they put a weird dana 70 in the dodge too, can i change the carrier and be able to run either 5.13 or 5.86 gears?

I could be wrong but I believe the 3.07 version D70 is total ghey as far as ratios.

thats what i figured since it had the 61 in the front it would be weird too

Is that axle in KY?
If it was here I know a few that would want it for their diesel converted trucks

yup it is in KY and the motor out of the dodge is going into a 89 ford 250
